GERD Elimination Diet – Day 10

Breakfast

Oats with oat and almond milk, cinnamon, vanilla, cashew butter and raspberries. Yeah, I didn’t have enough oat milk so had to mix in some almond milk. It’s not as thick as the oat milk (which is ‘extra creamy’) so I need to use less. I like my oats gluggy. I don’t feel I can really make a statement on taste until tomorrow when it’s full almond milk.

About 330 calories.

Lunch

Leftover chicken/bean/vegetable soup (it’s all gone now). Just under 400 calories.

Dinner

Brown rice noodles with chicken, zucchini, mushrooms, asparagus and coleslaw mix. The vegetables were just the ones that were languishing in my refrigerator needing to be used, except for the mushrooms which I’m currently trying to make myself like.

The noodles were okay but would have been so much better with soy or hoisin sauce and garlic.

Nearly 500 calories.

Snack

Macadamias, about 200 calories.

Macros

According to the Fitbit app, my split today was 36% carbs, 44% fat and 20% protein. I feel I’m forever needing more protein but I’m just not hungry enough to eat that much. Maybe I just need to cut carbs more.

I ate about 1400 calories today and energy levels were fine. I should mention that last night I was actually hungry around the time I was going to bed but I didn’t eat anything. I’m just glad my appetite seems to be returning.

Mild heartburn again, which I’m still attributing to rebound from coming off the proton pump inhibitors.
