GERD Elimination Diet – Day 70

Breakfast

Greek yogurt, homemade granola and an apple, about 440 calories.

Lunch

Leftover zucchini frittata with roasted garlic potatoes and spinach, about 610 calories.

Dinner

I made one of my husband’s favorite meals, which he has been missing out on while I’ve been doing this diet because it has garlic and isn’t really ideal for making a single serve. It’s loosely based on an Indonesian fried rice and has beef, shrimp, bacon, garlic and egg with a sweet soy sauce. I usually add green onions to my bowl but those are still out. We eat cucumber on the side since that’s part of the recipe this was based on, which I haven’t actually seen–my mother makes this and that’s where I got it from. This leads me to believe that the original dish is supposed to be spicy, so I plan on doing some research into how I can make it more authentic (while still keeping it ‘picky husband friendly’.

This was about 520 calories.

Macros

According to the Fitbit app, my split today was 41% carbs, 38% fat and 21% protein and I ate about 1560 calories.

Final Thoughts

I was worried about reintroducing garlic since it’s a known GERD trigger, but it seems to be going fine so far. That’s just as well since I love garlic and I’m not sure what I would do if I couldn’t have it anymore.

I realized that this marks the tenth week of this diet. That’s pretty nuts! I worked out that I have roughly six more weeks until I’ve reintroduced everything.

I’m hoping to find a name for my recipe blog by the time I’m done with this diet. I don’t know how much I will post here then, but I will be sure to link to the new blog when it is live, for anyone who is interested.
